When will finally a stringent control of tankers be introduced, a mandatory TÃœV for ships, regular checks of officers and better monitoring of crews? Such disasters are preventable. But for every meager profit, everything that can be sacrificed is sacrificed. And nature has to bear it. "The authorities hope that the heavy oil will quickly clump in the cold water and not reach the sea surface."
Yes and? Do they believe that solves the problem? Let's just leave the mess lying around on the sea floor, it doesn't bother anyone. Are they completely insane?
