Yet war becomes just as catastrophic for the environment there as it does for the people in Iraq - just think of this madness with uranium ammunition and other atrocities from the last Gulf War.
And likewise, cultural assets will suffer and disappear. And with the destruction of cultural assets, much is lost for us - memories of times that are no longer within reach. That too is fatal.
