Update on OS Support for Next Version of Lightroom. Hmm, I think this is where I'm out of the Lightroom update cycle for now. I'm absolutely not sure that upgrading to 10.8 on my MacBook Air is a good idea, and I don't feel like messing up my system with updates. Frankly, I don't quite see the point in absolutely needing 10.8. And no, system updates are never "free". Maybe free of charge, but the time you invest has value. And the loss of performance and potential new hardware purchase are also factors to consider. I don't even think I need more than what LR5 already offers me right now.

Jeffrey’s “Export to Google Drive” Lightroom Plugin. Hmm, let's see - I'm currently using Picasa to reach G+, but GDrive might also be an option. Especially since I can also get the pictures back directly as I uploaded them. In the end, it's the question of which way is faster.

zenphoto-publisher - Lightroom 3 Publisher plugin for Zenphoto. Maybe I should take a look at this - with this I can export directly from Lightroom to ZenPhoto. I usually have my pictures in my blog, but for larger quantities it's a bit cumbersome, so an alternative site for galleries would be quite practical, especially since I can then integrate ZenPhoto into WordPress again.

"Collection Publisher" Lightroom Plugin. Hmm, that looks good - I could easily manage my Photos folder in Dropbox from Lightroom if you let it create virtual copies automatically (which you can specify in the Collections), you don't even step on each other's toes when it comes to changes (and it doesn't take up extra space in Lightroom, only in the Dropbox folder).

Photosmith - the iPad mobile companion for Adobe Lightroom | Latest news, challenges, and progress from the developers.. I should check this out, as it allows you to sync images from the iPad to Lightroom and with the upcoming new plugin, even set up a bidirectional sync via a Publish Service in Lightroom, so that you can keep your image collections up to date on both devices. Very interesting for on the go (Camera Connection Kit) and for presentations to the family, where you can e.g. immediately indicate with tags or color markings what prints the family wants. Although it remains to be seen what will become of Adobe Carousel - it is said to offer similar features.

Adobe Lightroom - Customising Camera Defaults. Because I always forget how to do this - you don't often get a new camera and therefore this is done only rarely and then it disappears from memory again. So blogged, so I can find it again later.

Mystical Creatures

Pictures from the Gimbter Kleinkunstmarkt - some of the more normal versions can be seen on Flickr. I just played around with the presets and some more exotic settings in Lightroom. I need that from time to time.

Elemental - Integrating Photoshop Elements with Lightroom. I should check this out, as the integration of PSE as a simple external editor is quite limited and cumbersome.

LR/Blog – Export directly from Lightroom 2 to your Blog!. I didn't have this for some reason, but now I do. With this, you can export photos directly into the WordPress media library to use them in posts. Could help me in cases where I don't want to take the detour via Flickr.

Lightroom Developer Center. Since I want to take a closer look at this again soon, maybe I will create my own plugin for easy sync to WordPress after all. And Lua is not such a terrible language.

Blurb Plug-In For Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 | Blurb. Wow, that sounds really good - the books are priced as a real alternative to those from iPhoto and the available options sound good too - and even the shipping costs are not really problematic with normal Priority-Mail. I really need to check it out, because at the moment I always have to push my photos through iPhoto. Additionally, Blurb also allows you to sell photo books online (if it should not only be private books).

Photosmith – The Grand Tour | Photosmith – the iPad mobile companion for Adobe Lightroom. Hmm - interesting approach. An app that syncs with Lightroom via a plugin and makes capturing metadata and rating photos on the iPad easier. However, I use a MacBook Air, which is already compact enough for the purpose - and has the advantage of a real keyboard (not necessarily wrong for metadata capture) and can run Lightroom directly. But for a vacation trip, it might be quite cool - import photos via CCK and then tag them there and transfer them later.

Lightroom Auto Sync: HOW to use it. Wow. I've been using Lightroom for a long time, but I didn't know that - you can enable automatic synchronization of settings, so that when you make changes to images in a series, you can jump between these images and make changes, but these are applied to all images. Very practical if you want a consistent look for a series of images, but you need to experiment with all the images to see what that look will be.

"Press Kit" « Lucs Journal. A plugin for Lightroom that can export directly to the Wordpress Media Library or a NextGEN Gallery. However, of course again via xmlrpc.php, which I only reluctantly enable due to the more frequent security issues with it.
