Hello and welcome to the guide for the SVB board game round on the internet. I will try to describe the steps with which you can join the round here.
First of all: what do you need? Basically a computer, preferably with headphones and microphone or headset. But basically a normal computer is sufficient.
Second important thing: At the bottom of the page, I will link to pictures of game materials if there are any. So if you are looking for player aids for a game, for example, they are then at the very bottom!
You need to have installed Google Chrome as a web browser. Unfortunately, the whole thing does not work with Firefox, if you use it, you should additionally install Chrome or have additional steps to perform.
A quick note: you can click on the pictures if they are too small for you, then there is the picture in a larger size and you can read the texts better.

If you click on the link above, you will get the following picture with Firefox, which tells you that you need to install Microsoft Teams. But you hopefully have Google Chrome, so on to the next picture.
This following picture comes with Chrome. The important difference: you do not have to install Microsoft Teams (you can of course do that, but it is more complicated), but you can join directly in the browser. This is usually the easiest way. So in the picture then click on "Join on the web instead". Then you get the following picture:
You see here, my microphone and camera are active (indicated by the camera symbol and the microphone symbol with the slider). Maybe you will briefly get a question if Google Chrome can use your microphone and your camera - if the question comes, please confirm with Yes, so that you can also talk to the others. If you do not have a camera, you of course do not need to release the camera. There is no camera obligation, it is just maybe nice to see the other players again. But everyone is also welcome to leave the camera off if they do not want to.
What you also see in the picture: there you can enter your name. First name is quite sufficient, unless you know that someone else has the same first name. Then simply click on "Join now" and you will come to the following picture after a connection pause:
Basically you are finished - I just have to let you into the board game round. Therefore: if you try this in between, that probably will not happen, because I am not constantly in the room. And since it is about the servers of my employer, please just test in the evening hours, because during the day I do not have time to test with you, as I work. In the evening you can of course contact me via WhatsApp, then I will let you into the conference and we can see if everything works for you.
A small note: when you are in the room, there is a control bar with which you can turn the microphone on/off. As a request: if you do not speak, simply deactivate the microphone there, and only activate it for speaking, so that not everyone speaks at the same time. We will manage that. The control bar looks like this (and if it is gone in the room, just move the mouse, then it usually reappears):
You see again the symbol for microphone and camera, with which you can turn the two devices on/off. The square with the arrow you do not need - I only use that, I present the game in the whole room with it. The three dots are for settings and then comes a speech bubble, which opens or closes the chat window on the right edge. If something ever gets stuck, just open the chat and write in it, that is often the easiest way to get in contact.
And with that you are prepared for Thursday - setting up and presenting the game online I will take over, you only have to talk or chat what you want to do in the respective game situation. I will make sure that we have games that can also be played like this. It may be that I start with cooperative games at first, or with games in which there are no hidden information - just be surprised what comes. And - hopefully - have fun!
